I am going to make a case for St. Paul Alberta. Not only was this small hamlet the site of intense Bre-X interest because of the many instant Bre-X success stories made there, it is also the site of the worlds first UFO landing pad. I have seen this landing pad, it has a very nice map (Mercator Projection) with an X to mark the "You are Here" spot, just like the malls do. It is about two blocks from Smitty's Pancake House, a local coffee hot spot, but quite a bit farther from the bar which marks town center.

In Canada
The center of many small northern towns is a bar, in the larger cities to the south, the bar becomes the Bay.
