Alan,

Your post highlights the main point of one of my posts a few days ago- "One person says one thing and another person says something else"-- who is right? Beats me. Especially when they all sound like they have expertise on the subject.

I'm not saying they are wrong or right, only time will tell! And right now the "supposed" fact are telling me we are having problems due to some techinical issues. That's all. And if we were "not" having any problems then I doubt we would be reading about all these "issues"

"Where there is Smoke, there is Fire"!!

Regards,

MileHigh

>>800MHz is RF, and RF is a black art and as such goes way beyond the know how of even the most experienced digital designers. To give you a comparison, the much respected GSM phone network works at 960MHz!!!
These problems are not insolluable, but they will not easy. RAMBUS, INTEL, AMD will have to hire teams of RF specialists to get it on the tracks.<<

Almost all of Rambus's engineers are analog developers; there are actually relatively few digital developers at the company. You've nailed the reason why.

My best,
