1) Did DELL respond to the earnings shortfall?
2) Would you buy more DELL on Tuesday?

1) Fact: Quiet period prevents DELL from responding

2) Opinion: Every year or so, a GOLDEN opportunity presents itself to buy into tech stocks, including DELL. I don't think the current price reflects one of these times. Admittedly, $20 off seems like a good markdown, but the market has a history of giving better discounts.

My best advice is to NOT BE GREEDY. If you buy Tuesday, you'll get a great stock at what may turn out to be a high price. Just hold long enough that the little extra you pay becomes meaningless. I paid way too much for everything I now own: MSFT in 1989, DELL in 1992, but I'm not upset about it today.

Hope this helps, PW.

Ron,

As other posters have noted, Dell is in their quiet period. More importantly, the "earnings shortfall" you refer to is only in the opinion of two analysts. The majority of the other analyst believe Dell will meet their revenue projections.
