Hi everyone:"Mr.Patience...According to Taoist thought there is no such thing as a "lie"... Here is an excerpt from the "The Sayings of Lao Zi" (founder of Taoism) translated by Koh Kok Kiang and Wong Lit Khiong:"A good government will always help people to discard hypocrisy and cunning. It will deter those with a pretence of wisdom from acting arrogantly. With such a selfless way of governing and acting according to what is naturally right, a country will be well-administered. Honour leads to contention and wealth leads to covetousness. People become scheming to fulfill their desires. Such avarice is the root cause of the myriad problems in our society." Perhaps, you are referring to 'Zen' when you are saying that 'there is no such thing as a 'lie'."Here is an example... I believe all your examples, in some way, elicited 'hate' emotions from some people; but not all the people."Politicians don't "lie"...they succumb to human weakness and especially to the vices of power and conceit..." Couldn't agree with you more! Power can corrupt… the temptation is always around the corner…"Thus again, I ask why all the hate? Thus again, I ask: "What is your emotional response when someone you trust lie to you?" "Is the electorate really that naive about the nature of political ambition and the frailty of the human character in general?" Is it alright to "lie" and be deceitful in a pursuit to uncover other "lies"....Is this the "moral" lesson Americans wish to teach to their children?" I believe that regardless of who is lying, be it Nixon, Reagon, Bush, or any Presidents who were caught lying in public, no one like it and some even 'hate' it despite their understanding of the nature of political ambition.Sorry Mr. Patience....emotions are wonderful when used positively...but very destructive when used to fuel hate...... No need to be sorry, for you have voiced out exactly my sentiment. I have not voiced out my support of 'hate' in my previous post but simply explain, IMHO, why there are 'hate' over the issue. Our being an 'emotion' being subjects us to the rise of our own emotion such as greed, fear, hate, and etc. Without proper awareness and self-control of our own emotion, we are at its mercy. Unless we are some yogis who meditated in the hidden caves in the mountains of India, no one is immune to this emotional roller-coaster. One can only hope to catch it and control it in time before it gets a better of us…"Thus again...call me naive ...but I still don't understand hate.." OT: Do you meditate?"Sincerely and with agape...." <chuckles> Thank for the humor… (sincerely and not being sarcastic) and appreciate your friendly response. I also like to thank you for your good post #9924. exchange2000.com It is informative and educative. You have covered both sides of the coin in regarding to your 'method of trading' quite well.
