Finally back on Topic....I agree with Garz..and Roy..on timing...

I am an unabashed market timer.....sometimes I have been very successful ...sometimes I have messed up....

Thus there have been times when I wish I "timed"....and there are times I wished I bought and held..or "invested"...

With market timing, you have to understand "the big picture" and understand the events that will trigger a price run....

Sometimes....you have a good feel for the news to come....sometimes the news you anticipated comes...and then sometimes news you didn't anticipate comes ...and the stock moves without you...

However as a timer in and out of many stocks ....if I miss a 20% move on one stock and make another investment that earns me 60% instead.....did I really lose? Even if I reinvest that 60% gain in the one that just went up 20%...I'm still ahead....

Though in all honesty...sometimes it happens the other way as well.....ie...make 20%...lose 60%...then BANG MY HEAD on the wall..or even worse lose 60% gain and invest in a company that loses 20% instead...and THEN get hit with a margin call!...

Market timing isn't an exact science...but please take another look at my "winners"...and you'll see it has its perks....BUT it takes a lot more attention and I don't recommend these techniques to the typical investor who doesn't have the time or attention to "trade" as I do.
