Nord: True, each ones vision is different. However,in the final analysis, thanks to earnings announcements all those visions finally collapse into a reality.

Since that reality is based on numbers and not a qualitative description of the Firms capabilities, it may help to focus on Numbers instead of words.

As per the article quoted, the ATM market is projected to be $6.7b by yr 2001 vis 2 yrs from now. This means that the ATM revenue will be
$1.7b/quarter. Lets see how that will impact the industry.

The existing players and their revenues/quarter are as follows.

a:New LU----$8.0b
b:NT--------$5.8b
c:CSCO------$2.6b
d:NN--------$0.4b

a:,b:,&c: are projecting 15% growth and their earnings show they have consistently delivered. Player d: has a chequered scorecard. Based on these facts, the following questions are pertinent to the projected $1.7b/quarter for year 2001.

a: Will this be divided proportionately to past revenues.?

b:Is it more likely that $0.2b will accrue to NN (25% growth); will any technology gap close/open for NN with time.

c: Is NN's share more likely to be less than $0.10b.

Perhaps those closer to the Industry, may like to respond.
