Steve,
Because of all the hoopla, too bad Dell can't come out tomorrow or before the bell on Tuesday and announce. If, as a lot of us believe, the earnings will be on target, it could reduce the volatility on Tuesday and save a whole lot of shareholders a whole lot of grief.

Steven,
Hi!!!

RE: Michael DELL does not miss a trick!!...Like building that 'Mega' server facility right next to the airport!!...

Some think we're crazy jumping up and down about this facility...some trust what we say....frankly, we don't care what some of the skeptics think....had they seen what we had then there certainly would be a different opinion of what DELL is planning on doing...and, is doing these past four months...the things that come to mind immediately are the truck ports...36 loading docks....on each side...and, yes....the Airport....whether or not DELL plans to use it...it surely appears to be quite a coincidence considering nothing else was anywhere close......
The post today released by Mohan concerning the DELL FACILITY GROWTH....well, it tells it all...My father's words too keep echoing in my mind: "My Kemble, what confidence and knowledge DELL must have..." For many other reasons: I just finished reading two of my DELL "bibles" and picked out all the Server and Data Storage info from the past few months...DELL IS TURNING HERE INTO THE HIGH END....these many many articles portray their strategy and what many other analysts think of this move...The Aberdeen Group did a wonderful job with a 9 page summary of this...Mohan, sent it to me : DELL AND THE SAP: BRINGING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE DIRECT MODEL TO THE ERP "TORNADO".....Basically, it tells people like you and me who saw that facility that DELL plans on dominating this area some day...and, their model is the key...I will close this long comment with just one paragraph from this article...I hate singling out one since the entire article portrays the strategy...

THE SCALING OF A CORPORATION

"In order to facilitate Dell's transition to an enterprise computing company, CEO Dell brought in Michael Lambert, whose experience at Compaq and NCR qualifies him to lead Dell's Enterprise Systems Group. It appears that Dell plans to "hire not acquire" to bring in additional enterprise expertise and selectively partner for new products such as Data General's Fibre Channel Storage. Aberdeen suggests that Dell's outstanding level of $900,000 in revenue per employee is indicative of a "perspire not acquire" mentality. All kidding aside, Dell employees seem to thrive in their start-up like environment, and Michael Dell is very aware of the desirability of preserving Dell's culture-and like the problems being faced by some of Dell's competitors who have selected the acquisition route."

Steve ....imagine this place being run with the efficiency of Metric??? You know the answer...too bad Niles and others can't see what we did.....at least this is one time we did our homework!! :o)

Best, Kemble
