H

I used a program similar to this and it indeed did give me fits. SI was the main problem area so I took it off. Made 25 bucks from the company for reporting the problem so they may have fixed it. What it would do is not delete read messages so my bookmarks never were refreshed. That was the main complaint, there were a few other minor glitches

Good evening,

In regards to programs that claim to boost your Internet performance, it's my experience that they don't improve your connection speed too much.

Best thing to do is to ensure that you are running the latest version of Dial-Up Networking (For Windows 95/98)...Available from Microsoft's Web Site.

Also, ensure that the settings for your connection to your ISP (Internet Service Provider) are as tweaked as possible. Just giving the tech guys at your ISP a quick call can normally ensure that the settings are exactly as designed. Even then, don't expect much improvement...if any.

If you really want to, look into getting cable Internet access or ADSL. Depending on the area, it's normally available for about $25-35 /month for unlimited access, and about 10-50 times the speed of standard 56k connections.

Cheers,

Richard

I previously used this site. People that I personally know and some on this thread reported a noticeable difference. I personally can't say that I did. I have not heard from anyone who experienced a problem after following the recommended changes.
