I'm hoping that the V3 will be a videocard option for CompUSA's store-brand PC's. That'll help move some units as well. I'm not sure which system integrator makes the PC's for CompUSA, but it may help if 3Dfx lets them make the V3 cards as well for those PC's. Of course, that depends on the volume going through STB's card factory.

I think that STB will be able to win one or more large OEM's for the V3. I hope that 3Dfx is working the MB makers hard so they'll win some "integrated" sales as well.

I know that 3Dfx has worked somewhat with AMD, but they also have been optimizing their cards for the Pentium II (and III, I assume). I don't think that they had a huge fallout with Intel. Intel often invests in small, cutting edge companies to help push technology to market. 3D cards and graphics help Intel sell more powerfull CPU's. I'm sure that even if the "Rampage" has some form of geometry acceleration, faster CPU's will still help.

I was reading PC World on a plane flight back to Kansas. Banshee was all over their PCI chart. Banshee does very well on 2D scores and the powerfull RAMDAC on the V3 will help sales as well. I'm probably going to buy a high quality 19" monitor for my next PC. The V3 seems to be the best at driving them.
