Michael: I visited the grand opening of Sprint PCS in Atlanta this weekend. It was an amazing display for QCOM products & other Digital by Qualcomm handsets.

One of my friends walked out of the store thinking that he had bought a QCOM phone - it had a sticker on it that said Digital by QCOM. In reality, the salesman had dumped a TouchPoint on him. Chalk one up for the ASICs division!

Sprint is adding a lot more visibility to QCOM. Sprint is saturating the media in Atlanta with TV & radio ads. I'm sure they are beginning to do the same in Chicago too. The interesting thing about Sprint too is that they can leverage their relationships with retailers like Circuit City and Radio Shack. Both stores are just beginning to sell Sprint PCS products in Atlanta too. All of the signs have Qualcomm phones on them.

Last year, I thought that Airtouch was the key to Qualcomm success in the wireless market. This year, I think that Sprint is the winning ticket. In fact, I am going to sell 1/2 of my ATI position to buy PCS.
