Jon, Melinda, Poet--SHORTING

I deal with Greenline Webbroker (Canada). Their policy is to lend out shares for nothing under $3.00. They are very stringent about this. Also, they require 50 % up front money. If the stock is option eligible, they will process at 30% (option eligible criteria include: a share price >$5.00, listing for minimum of 12 months, etc.).

I don't know how American brokers deal with short people, but I hope this helps.

BTW, I follow the crash market index. When will it hit -10??

Poet... Shorting... Hi poet. Do you use Waterhouse for shorting? If so, how good are they at loaning you the shares, and is it in a timely manner?

Poet,

Great post. I for one would like to learn how to short stocks.
I think if you are trading, and you are treating your trading as a business, shorting is another way of generating income for your business.

Anthony maybe rough, and like to blow his own horn, but he is someone you could learn alot from.

Please have your friend post about shorting, or if not enough people are interested here, maybe we set something else up.

Thanks
DM
