The question I posed to Mr. Rukeyser (about Mr. Niles) was answered immediately by an E-mail saying they had received it. There is somebody home after all.
Hey, if it works, lets send some good question in. Get Miles out in public ( if anyone can find him) to either face the music or take the credit.
Sig

Dear Mr.Rukeyser,

As a long time investor in Dell corporation I am furious about the latest stunt by Dan Niles of BankBoston Robertson Stevens. Is this sort of thing legal? If it is, it ought not be, particularly considering Dell's earnings will be released on Feb.16th and the company is in a quite period and therefore couldn't defend themselves. The timing and the commentary is very suspect as Dan was not available for clarification since he 'was travelling',I bet he was. Now wouldn't it be nice to take a peek at BankBoston's trading records for the last few days and a fews day into next week?

Even if Niles' predictions turns out to be right his timing certainly is not and they say Mafia is a criminal organization,go figure! Anyhow with these 'influential experts' from various investment houses running amok, like Niles and Kurlak (good riddance) et all, what chances do we- the 'little Joe-six-pack-investors'-have? We ended up getting the shaft every time. Don't get me wrong I/we know investments are inherently risky but these 'wise guys' make it even more so.

Having said that may I say 'Long Live Free Speech' for otherwise these goons will be in the slammer a long time ago.

Sorry for the imposition Lou, just venting a little here is all,you don't mind do you? Man that feels good.<LOL>

Anyway thanks for a great show and do keep up the good work.

All the best
Mohan Marette

LETTER TO WALL STREET WEEK

Thanks Sig for the address.
Here is the question I sent to Mr. Rukeyser:

Feb 14, 1999

Mr. Rukeyser,
I have been an avid viewer of your show over the years and consider it a model example of balanced business journalism.

In view of the volatility of DELL's valuation following a recent report released by Mr. Niles which has raised the suspicion of abusive manipulation, would you be so kind and
obtain comments from Mr. Niles as to "what caused his opinion to change with regards to DELL in just 10 days?"

Mr. Niles at the beginning of February seemed satisfied that DELL would attain its objectives and expected sales of $5.5 billion. Following DELL's run-up days prior to the earnings release, Mr. Niles suddenly makes an aboutface. Many investors are left baffled.

THANK YOU

Vince Geracitano
