Toyota has developed a hybrid car. I am almost positive that it is already on the market in Japan.

I dont have the info in front of me, so this is off the top of my head. If the car is going between 0 and 18 mph, then the engine is running. 18 mph and above, the electronic motor kicks in. Toyota, along with other auto companies are heavily into the research and development stage on this and I wouldnt think it would be too long before some revolutionary new advancement is made in this industry. But, yes it will be some time before a full conversion is made of this new technology. They are working on it.
