There are only two reasons for these characters to exercise their options.

1. They were time sensitive and they had to exercised or they would have expired..

2. They need the money in which case we will see a quick sale if this is allowable. I would hope they would be restricted from selling for 6 months to a year. If there is no such restriction then we shareholders have been taken again, by U know who.

<<so caution should prevail here. >>

GW,
I agree with you completely here, especially after the overly pessimistic conference call. But I think you will find that executives are buying stocks with their own personal resources,
and not merely exercising stock options. FWIW, I do not plan to increase my position until there is further news about a US
marketing partner. EU approval will be nice, but Vivus needs to
either ink the partner or sell out to a pharma that has a sales
force in place.

At this point, I see three things moving this stock price.
1.) Hedged funds unwinding their short positions.
2.) A Viagra black box label.
3.) A US marketing partner.

Of coarse, the occurence of #2 will automatically trigger points 1 and 3.

Oh yes, which reminds me. According to a television show,
2 members of the FDA are under investigation for allowing Viagra
fast track approval (or for actually approving the drug). These 2 individuals were on Pfizers payroll. I did not see the show, but heard about it. Does anyone have any information on this?
