Sorry, I use a different data provider (QuotesPlus & TC2K) and don't know how to make the Downloader do that type of thing.

Some services use different symbols, such as $SPX, !SPX or SP-500. Or
for the DOW, DJ-30, $DJ30, !DJ30, etc.

Hopefully someone using the same data service (Reuters? Dial-Data?) can shed some light on this.

go to symbol look up in the downloader. use the following for the index symbols

.DJI for dow 30

.IXIC for Nasdaq Comp

.SPX for SP500

make sure to put the period before the symbol
