Jim: Thanks for the report from the field. I heard Michael Dell speak at the Economic Club of Chicago meeting last fall. He was OUTSTANDING. Every seat in the ball room at The Palmer House had a DELL Annual Report and a copy of the Harvard Business School Case on DELL's virtual integration model !!! Michael clearly and effectively articulated his vision, described his firm's unique business model, addressed future challenges and answered questions. I was sitting at a table up front with some DELL Product Managers and they told me that Michael is THE BEST leader and ambassador that DELL could ever ask for. I remember buying more shares within a few hours of leaving the meeting.

It sounds like you were equally impressed with what Michael had to say in New York at the Goldman Conference. I appreciate your comments....I really liked the following things:

<<"We are having a great year in 1999", M.Dell
"international growth..Japan sneaking up, demand increasing big"

I saw nothing that even hinted of a lower than expected quarter..
"We are growing 50 to 60% a yr, so, we are just dealing with what is in front of us.">>

IMO, DELL WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE NEXT DELL.!!!!

Regards,

Scott
