David, You didn't miss anything. The "new" McDATA switch is the ED-5000 32 port Fibre Channel Director. The 2 SilkWorms were split into processor "trays" and port "cards." It is full speed 1062.

The silicon is all Brocade. Public Loop support is still optional, the Zoning is still software only, and the Time Division Multiplexing backplane is a hindrance. There is nothing about it that is superior to Ancor's switches except the port count. That's as far as the McDATA engineers can take it short of spinning themselves a new ASIC. And they are not going to do that.
