Announce Joint Venture Abstracted from Globe & Mail 12/09/98 3Com Corp. (Santa Clara, CA) and Siemens AG (Germany) will create a 50-50 joint venture to develop the next generation of voice and data networking equipment based on Internet standards. The $100-million (US) joint venture will build applications for call centers and equipment that allows organizations to run telephone and data services over a single network. The joint venture will be based in the US and will initially have 200 engineers. 3Com and Siemens have a similar, three-way agreement with Newbridge Networks Corp. (Kanata, Ontario) wherein the three firms promote each other's products. Norden
