I can see your take on the hype, I just recently purchased some LUMM before the recent postings based on all the background info, and becuase of the fact that DWDM and fiber component makers will be hot this year, just as DWDM equipment providers will be hot. Two recent acquisitions/mergers of Terabit by ciena (my take is ciena wants more control to speed up the R&D by removing red-tape, becuase their firefly DWDM solution is know for it's heat-related problems). Then there is the Uniphase and JDS Fitel merger. I think there is a scramble to acquire technology in this field. No hype here, just presenting facts to point to a scenario. I know nothing at all of a buyout, but one of my reasons for buying into this compnay was that it had buyout written all over it. IMHO this company is a steal. I may go do some snooping and find some possible canidates.
