What do you think of the possibility raised that Microsoft may be forced to license the source code to its products? From a technical aspect, at least, it would have the effect of severely diminishing Microsoft's ability to put their competitors on a treadmill-- having companies spend mucho effort trying to figure out why their products don't work with Microsoft's latest OS upgrade.

I think that the remedy would be to change the copyright laws so that the original producer no longer has iron-grip control over the media.

Programmers, actors, musicicians and the like will all have to realize that there is no money in making music, movies, software, or whatever.

To pretend that today's media moguls will control tomorrow's media would be a mistake.
