Junk science it is. I agree completely. But I also think it's a little like astrology: everyone knows their sign and subconsciously acts accordingly. This stuff is always reflecting the past, and clearly is out of whack when any new fundamental arrives on the scene. But the present and the future are built on the past, and I would argue that even the present and the future are in the past in terms of our experience of them [The eye comes into contact with a visible object and visual consciousness produces a sensation, that is perceived and then emerges into the individual's conscious awareness. That looks like the past to me.] The point being that if used as a device for concentrating the attention, trends and habits of market participants can be anticipated and certain forshadowing of events is also possible. Take for example the fact that we have here some very technically knowledgable participants. Their thinking is way out ahead of the investment community. And yet, as investors, they are making their presence known in the market. The contention is that by close attention that presence can be noticed and capitalized upon.
