Aus and Thread:
This is the industry I am involved with and this is a big deal. Also answers a question I posted some time back. This can only be a boost for "Flash memory". Not just Cars , any device that can be upgraded. The possibilities are staggaring. Less waste due to upgrade.(sorry,starting to ramble, get off soapbox)

I don't know anything about SSTI specifically, but I found a press release. If they are using thick oxides for flash, their reliability claim is correct--thicker oxides are definitely better, and leak less to boot. However, they also require higher program voltages and take longer to program, so the advantage they have all depends on the application.

But that's all I can say with zero info.
