Verilink Corporation Announces Stock Repurchase Program

Verilink Corporation (Nasdaq: VRLK - news), a leading supplier of telecommunications access products that link corporate networks to the Internet and other WAN services, today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized the Company to repurchase, at market prices and as business conditions warrant, up to one million shares of Verilink common stock. Verilink has approximately 14 million shares outstanding. The stock will be repurchased from time-to-time at management's discretion.

''The repurchase of common shares at this time reflects our commitment to enhance the shareholder value of our company,'' stated Leigh S. Belden, president and chief executive officer of Verilink Corporation. ''We believe our stock is an attractive investment at recent prices and repurchased shares will offset the dilutive effect of stock options and other stock programs.''

Hopefully this will help VRLK return to a more reasonable valuation
