I think the next two years look particularly good for semi companies such as LSI, but I want to see LSI outperform the pack for a change. Quite frankly, my money would have been much better off in ALTR, XLNX, INTC, BRCM, and especially VTSS. I think the movement into storage will ultimately be considered a stroke of genius--much better than consumers. But what concerns me is the Fabless Companies. We will see how that works out. Right now, the "hot" analyst might be Dan Niles, who recently upgraded LSI--twice. I always considered Dan Niles as a capable night manager at Applebees, but we shall see. Maybe his skills have grown over the past two or three years. He is certainly not impressive during CCs.
