Sanctions Under Debate in Microsoft Case.

via Washington Post

>The forced licensing of the Windows source code, for instance, could allow other companies to create Windows "clones," stimulating competition and innovation in the operating system market. Consumers would get the choice of new, cheaper systems that would still be compatible with the Windows standard, according to proponents of the approach, who include several economists that have been advising Justice and the states.<

Comments on how this, and the other possible court sanctions mentioned in the article, would affect AAPL?

Wasn't there a news story a few months ago about the Disney hotels doing something like that? Perhaps it was just being considered, but I do remember getting a little excited with the prospect of major Mac purchases from hotel and motel chains if it should catch on.

Personally, I think it is a service who's time is overdue. Perhaps what is needed to make it happen is a service company set up to manage the ownership and sanitizing of the machines, not unlike a linen service, for use in all the major hotels and motels in a given area.

Any venture capital out there? Give me an email. I'm near Dallas, Tyler and Longview, Texas. (grin)
