Hey Yang...If China is so wonderful what you still doing here?

Besides...how much does an assistant professor in China make?

As a professor in China, you'd have access to a computer and ISP through your institution...right?

Though on an assistant professor's salary in China would you be able to afford a computer of your own? Would you be able to afford the on-line service?

And what about all those peasants in the country side and workers in the less "glamorous" cities making less than $1.35 a day....How the heck are they going to afford personal computers? Afford the training to know how to use them? The ISP, let alone the phone service, to get on line? Especially since none (3%) of the C-Yups can even affords these "luxuries"....how the heck will all the peasants and unskilled workers, who are the VAST vast majority of the population? Will all of this just mentioned be done through maintaining a centralized Socialist State...that provides these services at minimal costs through State owned companies?

Now China...she is approvin'....but oh so slowllllly....Will take a long long long time for the infra structure to be in place...and even a longer time for the political changes required for freedom of access and the reforms required for a more open society...plus remember if the cost of business gets to be too much because of increases in labor costs and environmental plus work safety standards...guess what? A significant part of the foreign investment may get up and leave to go to cheaper labor less regulated more totalitarian regimes and places like Burma and Turkistan...for example.......

Thus you don't want to increase the standard of living too much to be able for Chinese to afford the types of products that GTCI provides...let alone the computers to use them on...

Btw...how many Chinese households now have VCR's ...Televisions...Food Processors..and what percentage of the population is this...2%...5%...would be an interesting number to know...don't ya think?

Thus GTCI...."if" a good and real investment...surely is a LONG long LONG term one......

Anyway...may be you should hurry up back to China ..sounds like your motherland..needs you really bad....

Happy Bunny Year!
