To further by point about Gateway. Look at apple stratgedy with the Imac. Production at the $1,100.00 price point and migrate down to $899.00 along the way the have a smathering of higher end units offering more pseed and feature at premium pircing... while each incremental sale of an Imac increased sales of apple software interent services, accessories. each I mac sale guarantys that apple does not rot. Hook them early and take them up the ladder as the customer base matures. Life could't be more simple. The guy who migrates to the midpoint of the sub 1000 market with the system offering the most wins the bulk of the market share. bottomline this is every boxmakers goal.
