Any news--is it a complete success?

Vman;

from a previous post you wrote : --Telstar 6--How fast and at what rate this sat fills will be a good measure of US demand, which is thought to be quite high with resultant decent lease rates. A high power bird with an excellent orbital slot and virgin lease contracts should get the max revenue per transponder. If they could average $1.8 million per transponder by end 99, life would be good. Any sooner and life is very good. There are contracts out there that could conceivably book them up straight away--keep your eyes open!

Have transponder rate estimates changed in the past year or so? Frost and Sullivan had transponder rates of 1.6 and 2.2 mill (C and Ku) per year. At your 'good' life level, that is 90%+ lease rate. I agree that would be 'good'. Is that level of usage still reasonable given Satmex current levels?

Just wondering...

Loral is about to start generating cash this year (if all the sats get up and start performing at those levels, +/- given the cherry orbital slot Telstar 6 enjoys in the most robust market - US) I think we are due some good numbers. Given all the Loral/Globalstar assets which should come on line this year, Loral might even become a momentum stock!
