Nancy, no comment on the statements about Emile. I do agree with the scripture verses. One thing about Baptist. There is no socalled Baptist church as you would think of the Catholic Church or Methodist Church, etc. Each local Baptist church is an independent body. We are as varied as the hairs on my head(I do have some remaining:>). There is no ruling group like elders or priests, the assemble rules thru prayer and guidance from The Holy Spirit. Many people have a hard time with this, even the press, each local assembly can choose or not choose to affiliate with a group such as The Southern Baptist Convention, etc. However, we are not ruled by them. The local assembly is its own ruling body. The convention can disassociate from us or likewise we can disassociate from them. There is a strength in this type of arrangement, it is freedom at work within the associated body. We elect delegates to the convention meetings and they formulate and vote on various policies. I think this is rather like the founding fathers concept for our nation.

Have a blessed day,

David
