dd, I don't think Barrick would have made the $5/$5.50 offer unless they were very comfortable with owning the company. They, and Lundin, have more information concerning this play than most can imagine. What do they have to gain by waiting? If someone else was to make the first move here they would have to play catchup, and that could prove very expensive and tricky. Sure, gold is at $290, but who knows what a few months, as well as more drililng, can bring.
