This may be a good point to insert the latest from The Washington Post: Clinton job approval--- 68% (no big surprise, unfortunately); Respondents who believe Clinton should face criminal charges--- 48%!!!; Res. who believe Clinton is more to blame for the impeachment mess than the Congressional Republicans-- 54%!!!! to 42%; Who favor Clinton's handling of issues over Congressional Republicans--- 52% to 35% (darn); Who favor Congressional Dems over Cong. Republicans--- 48% to 37% (not too bad--- but wait); Who view Congressional Republicans unfavorably---- only 46%!!!; Who view their own Representative favorably--- 70% (the usual); BUT GET THIS--- Gore favorability-- 59%; YET IN A MATCHUP WITH BUSH--Bush 50%, Gore 40%????? THESE WERE FROM THE SAME POLL, SHOWING THE WEAKNESS OF THE FAVORABILITY RATINGS.
