Rick,

I am dreading having quote outages even though I have ADSL

Unfortunately, it will happen, though infrequently. Worse than an outage is a slowdown of which you are unaware. That is, you think you are getting instantaneous data, but it is effectively delayed. This will happen too, and somewhat more frequently than a total outage. This is one reason why I day trade with a broker over the phone. It offers a check on the accuracy of my data.

A few years ago, I had a direct dial-up account (which bypassed the internet) to Track Online. Something similar to what Watley offers, but without the trading function. Even that account experienced outages and slowdowns.

Do you load [MP3] songs into a Rio player or just play them on your computer? I think I'd like to make CDs so I can play them on my stereo system.

I play the MP3 songs on my computer, as I've been too cheap to spring the $200+ for a Rio player. To play MP3 songs on your stereo, you have to first convert them to .wav files before you burn them onto your CD. This is according to my 11 year old son (the computer whiz I called to find an answer to your question).

Best regards,
Gary Korn
