If the market Tuesday starts off down, 85 might do it. If not, we have seen the near-term bottom. JMHO.

There is an opportunity to make money off fear. If enough people continue to buy-in to the alleged "revenue shortfall" prediction, the stock could take a hit in the morning. With Dell's stellar record, and, as Voltaire has so aptly pointed out, Michael's silence, I expect shorts to cover in the afternoon in anticipation of good earnings, taking away any buying opportunity.

Remember, they just had a sale on Dell, and you can get it now for almost 20% off. You would be mad at yourself if you waited for 30% off and never hit it.

There would be huge decline in a revenue shortfall. If that happens, look out below. On the other hand, blow-out earnings will drive out all shorts. The wheel is spinning and the ball has dropped. I can hear it bouncing. "Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets." Bet with MD, or bet against him.

don't try to time "the bottom", on dell or any other issue...

enter a day order to buy at a price you feel is of value...dell looks good at these levels if you are a long term investor...investors worry more about buying an absolute bottom, than considering loss of opportunity of upside potential...buy it and put it away...if you want to buy, but not sure of the "bottom"...why not sell a feb 90 put (dlqnr)..you will get a $4.50 premium or more in a down market for your effort, and if dell is below 90 on friday you will have the stock that you were going to buy anyhow at a cost basis of 85.5 (90-4.5)...if dell runs up, you've made 450 per contract...just another strategy to take a position and lessen the risk of a market order...good luck!

Matt,

Naz futures up. May not get a chance to pick up Dell at a bargain price. Let's see if it holds up 'till morning.
