bb, you're posting on all the threads I'm reading today! <g> Even though it was a 1989 article, hence a bit out of date, it raises an important issue ... the vulnerability of US retirement savings to government confiscation, either directly or indirectly (through taxation). I'm sure you remember the plan floated by the Clinton administration in its early months for a "one-time" tax of, I believe, 10% on all retirement fund balances. Peter
