All marketing is intended to present a product in it's best light. By your definition all marketing is a lie. I don't accept that view. To me there is clearly a difference between hyping a feature as perhaps more important then most may find it, when that feature really exists, and making blatantly false statements to analysts, shareholders and the general press. People expect marketing hype to be exaggerated. They filter that. At the same time there is an expectation of forthrightness in shareholders meetings and statements about business conditions. In an Intel analyst meeting we have to accept that they are being very conservative so as not to misrepresent the business outlook. In an AMD analysts meeting we can't believe anything Jerry says. I see a difference there.

If that is true, and it probably isn't, you should LOVE IT, ENDORSE IT, PRAISE IT.

It is the same as your beloved Bill Clinton - FUNDAMENTALLY DISHONEST.

If FUNDAMENTALLY DISHONEST is good for the President of the United States, it should be OK for a marketing campaign.

You should LOVE the Pentium III !
