OK the wood is in Abers pipe. I've seen samples of it and it looks just like charred wood and it came from a couple hundred feet down it the kimberlite.
The WSP boulders in one spot are reported to have a black coal like substancee in them. I arent sure what it is.
As for the treasure hunting stuff, personally I kind of like the info. It doesn't have much to do with mineral exploration but it is none the less interesting.Hey we have a couple LOST MINES up here i may get to talking about someday when I have the time for those interested.
Now if you read the WSP press release they just state info and others interpret it positively or negatively or somewhere in between.
I dont believe there iss enough info yet to claim "This is the richest diamond find of all time"as some do, nor do I think it is äll a waste of time and money"as others do. It is a very interesting exploration and geological find. Further explorration will determine just what it is and how good it is. Even if you take the three large stones out of the equation it is darned interesting.
I know as a prospector I would certainly love to find something like this on one of my claims.
regards to all

ps. It is heritage days in the north and Im off to the local museum to talk about prospecting to the young and old.
Yesterday did the same and we have alot of Japanese tourists in town. They may not know much english but when they see gold in a pan they get excited. They recognise the word gold no problem and they also seemed to enjoy seeing indicator minerals and kimberlite samples.
If the claims at Snap Lake ever come open you can bet Ill be up there to stake them and turn it into a tourist dig your own kimberlite and diamond site. However I doubt those claims will ever become availaable in my life time so just have to keep looking for my own "sanp lake".
