I think the right logistics package can
shave 1-2% off the cost of sales for a company like amzn - but you are going to have to
write it yourself with a bunch of high priced ERP consultants. This is all back office
stuff.

No argument there and Amazon has them. They are likely paid with stock options don't you think?
