There is one other alternative for the excess social security money and that would be to pay it on the standing debt Agreed, but that is what AG and to a limited extent, Clinton, are proposing. Pay down the debt so that less gov't debt is owed to foreigners and more is owed essentially to itself and to SS recipients. But I'm surprised you didn't recommend that they take the surplus and invest it in gold. Bet there would be many out here would just LOVE THAT!! <VBG> Regards, Ron
