money-markets are OK if they have ST treasuries or repos in them.. bond index fund OK...some in cefs..and some of that worthless microcap farmer mac, in case somebody decides US farmland is worth more than a nickel an acre.
all my real estate was bought way under its appraisal or replacement cost during recessions, sold when times were good.
Lawn? ick...bark, deck, raised-bed garden. Like any good survivalist, I have a winter garden, fireplace and cordwood. Want to weed in exchange for peas, beets and carrots?
BTW I heard there's a loophole in the tax law that lets one buy rental properties and gold coin with IRA money without taxation...I'm looking for more info on it.
