Hello John/thread

Our Columbus Dispatch here in Ohio has mostly run the type of Y2K articles that make people scoff at someone they portray stockpiling and preparing etc. but today Feb 15 they actually have an article that is the beginning of what I expect to be steady warnings trying to get people to wake up.
Such phrases as "prepare for 72 hours" etc. but when you read on- it doesn't say problems will be fixed in 72 hours-- but a state gov't spokesmen is saying "it may be 72 hours before help can get to you"
hmmmmm..... now that makes me feel better
Several paragraphs after saying electric and utilities would be fine the "expert" casually mentioned having a manual can opener!
At the end the expert said " we won't discourage anyone from preparing and each family has to decide for themselves"
Basically it was a fine article and only the blind would not see the beginning of an effort to get people to prepare as much and quickly as possible without panic.
I can't believe people don't take this serious. "Prepare for the worst and pray for the best" is my motto
Jeff
