Spots

No matter which you're referring to (my boot.ini or his),
he won't get a boot option to the second drive.

I think the following statement from you is where zp and I are getting confused:

Spots wrote)

IF all this is true, then the following
boot.ini file will give you a choice of NT on IDE1 in
Winnt or NT on IDE2 in Winnt0, with a default to Winnt on
IDE1:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="NT Workstation 4.0"
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="NT Workstation 4.0 [VGA mode]" /basevideo /sos

I understand not getting the ide 2 option since there is no refernece to ide 2 in this file.
I do not understand how the option is made available in this file, if it is made available. If it is not than the ' or NT on IDE2 in Winnt0" part has been widely misunderstood.
