Sometimes the removal of Viruses cause more damage than the Virus itself. Since I started using computers about 11 years ago, I have run into 5-6 Viruses in the last 3 years, years before that NO problem.

All from infected floppy disks. All boot viruses, easy to fix.

Mr K, so now I KNOW someone who got hit by a virus. Well, I'll continue to use the McAfee antivirus program.<G>

BTW, I had to reinstall all factory software on my month-old Compaq
Presario 5204 last week. [reason was no internet sound and tech
support made things worse, until using the recovery CD-ROM was the
only alternative]. That made me a little paranoid, too, especially
since I don't know what failed. So, backing up files I create is
absolutely essential.
