Michael...One question: So when Dell (in Q1 '99-May reporting) shows a dramatic increase sequentially in % market share gain (due, in part, to the same seasonally figures that play a role in Q4, only in reverse), Are you going to come back and proclaim: "Dell just experienced a dramatic increase in marketshare sequentially"...

"Shot thru the heart and you're to blame....you give bears a bad name"..

Good thing that you don't make a living doing econometric forecasts. Now tell us how retailing is going to go to hell in a handbasket because sales are projected to drop sequentially in the first quarter.

The fact is that your analysis is bogus, and you have no data to back up you contentions, so you are hiding behind legalisms. You know it, I know it, and the thread knows it.

I am the last person in the world to call a lemming. But you are a poor imitation of a pied piper. Your bagpipes are out of tune.

I think of myself more like Odysseus --I have lashed myself to the mast so I can hear the Siren's song without destroying my boat. But, alas, your song is so bad that I don't think it would lure any but your band of true believers.

PS, if you want to quote IDC why don't you go to IDC and get their numbers rather than relying on secondary sources?
