Just checking up on you, need a notebook ASAP, was thinking about DELL but think I'll stick with what my buddy is a service depot for, COMPAQ, Hitachi, Acer, Sharp etc.- a few lunches and I have lifetime, long as parts available, warranty, ya scared me off Dell. LOL.

Pro,

I had a similar problem with a generic computer. Changed power supply, memory, video card, motherboard,... everything but the modem card. Cursor still froze... had to reboot on many occasions when cursor disappeared or froze. Finally I purchased a FILTERING UPS. Have not had a cursor or mouse movement or program freeze failure since. You still may have conflicting software as well.

Good Luck,

RW

Your complaints about DELL service seem almost unbelievable to me.
I bought a DELL Inspirion 3500 in Nov. recieved in 4 days, about a month later the modem went out. Talked to service for about 20 minutes, he said he would call me back he had to check on something. called back said he did not know what was wrong. My options were to either send it back (to be fixed)or I could have a new one. THE NEW ONE ARRIVED 22 HOURS LATER. Now I know why they win all them service awards.
Of course when your LONG ON DELL good things seem to happen to ya all the time
Perry
