I don't think what you have below is correct.

A MegaTexel (MT) refers to the number of dual-textured pixels produced. A MegaPixel (MP) refers to the number of pixels produced, usually single-textured.

The danger (and advantage) with coming up with totally new metrics is that it totally confuses people who are trying to compare oranges with oranges.

In this case, the term texel is a very dangerous thing to use. IE: for the V2 case, MP = MT/2, or MT=2*MP.

Hence, using the MT number makes people think you're twice as fast, when everyone else is looking at MP. In reality, in a game, some things are single textured, and some are two or more. Hence the only thing that matters is frame rate, (FPS). But MT is not exactly a useful metric.

If speed is what you want, the best measure is basically frame rate in quake2 or quake3 or Unreal or (insert your favourite game here), everything else is just marketing goo.
