The nightmare of the Archipelago ECN will haunt E-Trade
The Chairman-elect Cotsakos dumped enough stock to put over 20 million in his pocket. An executive needing some cash? R.D. Buschman you are one of the few traders who has a clue as to what is going on at E-Trade. It is only a matter of time before Cotsako's leadership skill is questioned by analysts and shareholders for dumping 25 million dollars of E-Trade's money into the Archipelago ECN. I asked the SEC to launch an investigation for a fraudulent application for the Archipelago ECN back in late 1997. I have been in contact with them on a regular basis since. When I brought this to the attention of the legal counsel for E-Trade, Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, they were very concerned. However, isn't it interesting that they were told by executives of E-Trade (who they would not identify) to stop their investigation into this subject? This leadership decision of Cotsakos to get involved with Archipelago, in my opinion, is one of many that will cause Cotsako's not to last at E-Trade. For those of you not familiar with Archipelago, start with my post #2059 on the MB Trading thread.
