With all the excitement on the thread I fully expected to see a lot of the "contrary" gang showing up. Maybe they will blitz us tonight.

Earlier I posted a list of the reasons why I thought we would see the stock price heading north in the near term. Many of you have added some excellent points so I thought it might be useful to make a new list:

1. Serious money flowed into the stock in the Fall when everyone was anticipating an announcement at Comdex or before the analyst visit in Dec. Much of that money was apparently pulled out in Dec when the expectations weren't met. It should come back in now that we are basically back to where we were in the Fall. (ie., Lev's comments at the CC regarding the stock price raising without hype within the next six weeks.)

2. No one else in the game for bigger batteries. Valence is the only co that can make a battery big enough for a notebook computer. Huge potential in that market alone.

3. Regarding the companies which have recently announced commercial products ready to ship there are "strong indications" of infringement on Valence patents and Lev won't hesitate to go after them if they try to sell.

4. Valence has the capacity to sell "very large" quantities of laminate but Lev doesn't know whether or not he will sell to competitiors.

5. Valence technology has them at the head of the pack (ie., manganese vs cobalt) and it is very well protected by a huge patent portfolio.

6. Valence currently able to produce 4-5 large and 10-25 small batteries a minute.

7. 165 employees at the NI plant. (Must be doing something besides R&D.) Sounds like the people are in place to crank up production as soon as the first order is placed.

8. Regarding a new CFO: (Lev) "I hope I am arriving at the end of the search." Sounds like they have their person but don't want another fiasco like happened with the IBM guy. Will announce when the person is actually on the payroll.

9. Several major houses were represented in the q & a at the CC.

10. The floorless financing was relaxed. Either Castle Creek faced being taken out by another lender or was convinced commercialization was imminent.

11. Bert Roberts' recent purchase of 20K shares.

12. Great team of jockeys.

13. Apparent slow accumulation by institutions.

14. Recent articles and announcements re Li Poly sector bringing a lot of attention to the sector.

15. Very upbeat SH meeting and CC. Lev comfortable and confident.

If I have forgotten any of your points please forgive me..

Actually, I would say we have much more reason for optimism than back in October when the price went to $11.00+. We still have the insider buying, the addition of Bert Roberts to the BOD, etc. Sounds like we even have positive TA signals.

Will the stock price go up slowly or quickly? Either way is fine with me. A factor that may cause it to go up quickly is the relatively large short position which exists. The same sense of near term success that has all of us excited has got to have the shorts thinking seriously about the prudence of covering this week.

Should be a very interesting week.
