To All: I am here to *OFFICIALLY* declare a new era in investing. From now on, this post is to be used in leiu of any textbook on security analysis: Valuation models and earnings no longer matter, here are the new benchmarks (in basic order of importance): 1. Stock Splits! (Both the announcement and the actual split) 2. A Web Page either selling something or containing banner ads 3. Analyst Upgrades and Reiterations (It matters not the calculation of the upgrade, it is the upgrade itself that matters) 4. Technology Conferences 5. Breathless Maria Bartiroma mention in pre-opening stock report From now on, if a company wishes to raise stock prices, instead of increasing earnings, they are to repeat one or all of the 5 above mentioned steps.
