Question to the thread...

After reading through much of this board over the weekend, there is one basic question which has me puzzled and concerned. Why would Niles and BBRS release a somewhat negative report on Dell if they did not have the data to back it up? (sorry if the answer is obvious to others). Was it that Niles simply didn't include all lines of Dell's business?

I have read the posts concerning BBRS's relationship to CPQ, and BBRS rating of Dell as "market performer". Still, I find it hard to believe that both Niles and BBRS would jeopardize their reputations simply to place Cpq in a good light short-term. They must realize that if Dell does report good numbers on Tuesday, the stock will quickly recover from Friday's sell-off. Seems like a heavy price to pay. I'm just trying to figure out what do they stand to gain?

BTW, I would like to thank Chuzz, Gabriel, Mohan and everyone else who have posted their thoughts. Needless to say Friday was somewhat upsetting, however after reading many of the analytical posts this weekend, I feel much better.

Good Luck

Kevin
