Thread I have been receiving about 200 e-mials a day and every once in a while one will catch my eye. I really enjoyed this e-mial. I have of course deleted the persons name off of it. Just a lurker on SI for about a year. Been trading online for about 1 1/2 years. Started trading with very little knowledge right before the small correction of Oct 97. Needless to say, up to the beginning of this year I've taken my lumps to the point where my wife and accountant both said to throw that computer in the garbage!!! Founds Tim's thread about 3 months ago and try to read it daily. It has helped. Since I can only trade part time (work with 2 kids) finding time is difficult! Sorry to hear about your losses. I have tried to pick a BOTTOM in the OIL PATCH for over a year. HELP! HELP! ;o) This didn't help, plus trying to short an internet stock (XCIT) did a good deal of damage!!!! OUCH!!!! Chasing HIGH FLYERS!!! It all added up to about $15,000.00 in losses which was most of my savings. Having to go to work and leaving trades on the table without a stop! PANIC SELLING! I've done them all. Now I try to close all positions before I go to work. That cost me a gain of $1200.00 just 2 day ago!!! SOMETIMES YOU JUST CAN'T WIN!!! Anyway, this year my new strategy which I try to adhere to is (notice I say try) if it "PAYS COMMISSIONS AND LEAVES CHANGE TAKE IT." also..... "TAKE LOSSES IMMEDIATLEY.......ALWAYS>>>>>>>>>ALWAYS....... 1/8 to 1/4 OUT! So far this year have TRIPLED my money. Looking for more BASE HITS and accumulating the $$RUNS! Stll don't know if I've just been LUCKY or maybe these small changes are helping! TIME WILL TELL! Also all the information and new indicators I've learned about on SI doesn't hurt! I always read MDA THREAD and WAITING FOR THE BIG KAHUNA. Both have helped. Any way sorry for the long post! Love the new WEB SITE!! Have seen the changes! You could always start a business creating web sites for people! Would like to try and do it myself. May I ask where you started??? Any link would be appreciated?? Well gotta go change a diaper!!
